The U.S. automaker Ford Motor plans to sell almost all its shares in Mazda Motor, while away from the Japanese automaker that once controlled, said Saturday a source with knowledge of tema.Ford (FN) could reduce its shares in Mazda (7261. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the agreement has not been made public, also said the final decision on the sale probably would be taken to year.The business daily Nikkei initially reported the possible sale of shares on the morning of sábado.Ford and Mazda said the report was just speculation, issuing similar statements in which they emphasized that their alliance is still intact. “The percentage of ownership of Ford Mazda remains unchanged,” said Ford. “Ford continues to have a strategic relationship with Mazda and we cooperate in areas of mutual benefit. We have no further comment on the speculation,” said Ford Nikkei aggregately sell its stake in Mazda to 3 percent or less.
